Just Loans Group joins BBA

The association currently has over 240 members and represents the world’s largest banking cluster with 80% of global systematically important banks being members.

The BBA also supports and promotes policies and initiatives that balance both the interest of banks and the wider public.

Explaining Just Loans Group PLC’s decision to become a member of the BBA, John Davies, CEO, felt that it would be a great forum for communicating and sharing best practice.

“It has been evident for some time that the regulatory environment has proved challenging for many of the mainstream banks in their dealings with small businesses.

“This has resulted in delays in accessing loans, and often putting businesses through onerous processes as they have addressed Anti Money Laundering legislation in particular.

“The solutions we have developed and established in the Just Loans Group make the most of technology in streamlining these challenges and we look forward to sharing our experiences and expertise."

John concluded by adding that he didn’t see traditional banks and alternative lenders being in competition with each other as they all shared the common aim of helping UK businesses invest and grow.

“We see the future as traditional banks and alternative lenders increasingly working in partnership with each other.

“Aligning ourselves with the BBA – the voice of banking in the UK – is a great way to accelerate this and share experiences to date that come from a sole focus on business lending and innovative fintech investments."
