Bridging lender Omni Capital has revealed that it is very close to the £1bn lending mark.

Colin Sanders, CEO of Omni Capital, told the audience at a networking event in conjunction with BuroHappold Engineering, that the lender is now approaching the financial milestone following its launch in 2010.

Bob Sturges, Head of Communications at Omni Capital, explained to B&C that the figure relates solely to the property funding side of the business – the retail arm is a multi-million pound-per-month lender in its own right.

The event, which was held at the West End offices of construction and development design giant BuroHappold, attracted representatives from the worlds of real estate, engineering, finance, media and design.

Commenting on the event, Colin said: “BuroHappold, a market leader in its field, has a deep and abiding interest in UK real estate and the many opportunities this dynamic sector continues to offer.

“Joining forces for this unique evening was a very great pleasure and one we are keen to repeat.”
Specialist economist, Jim Coleman, spoke to the gathering about the prospects for continuing overseas investment into the UK.

“The words of Jim Coleman were truly insightful and, I suspect, demonstrated to many that all economists are not cut from the same cloth,” Colin concluded.

In September, Omni Capital appointed Chris Whitehouse as its Financial Director and Sarabjeet Bhoday as Financial controller to strengthen its in-house finance team. Chris was the former financial director at Candy and Candy, while Sarabjeet was the former loans director for West One.

It also appointed the London studio DD London to provide it with creative design and brand services.
