Masthaven removes upfront legal fees across bridging range
By Tara SammonsClients can now add the legal fee to the agreed advance if they wish
Masthaven Finance has enhanced its bridging proposition with a new option that removes the need for clients to pay legal fees upfront.
Legal fees can now be added to the loan, so clients do not need to fund them at the outset, helping cases move into the legal process more quickly.
The legal fee can now be added on top of the agreed advance rather than deducted from it. This enables brokers to secure the full loan amount for their clients, even where a case is at maximum LTV.
Jim Baker, sales director for bridging and development at Masthaven Finance, commented: “Brokers regularly tell us that having to pay legal fees upfront can be a barrier for clients.
“Removing that requirement gives clients greater flexibility and helps speed up the process.
“For cases where an AVM can be used, clients can benefit from even fewer upfront costs.
“This is a practical enhancement to our proposition and reflects our focus on making bridging finance simpler to navigate for brokers and their clients.”
Michael Cartwright of BuildLoan commented: “This option gives brokers greater flexibility when structuring a bridging case and removes a potential barrier at the outset.
“Being able to add the legal fees without reducing the agreed advance is particularly valuable for clients borrowing at maximum LTV.”
The new legal fee option is available from 21 October 2026 across Masthaven’s entire bridging range, including cases using AVMs.
