Proplend appoints new chairman

Jason brings more than 35 years of experience in financial services to the role, having held senior positions at the Royal Bank of Scotland and Metro Bank.
Most recently, Jason was the CEO of Recognise Bank, which he co-founded in 2017.
He also founded Acorn to Oaks Financial Services in 2008, a whole-of-market advisory business based in the West Midlands.
Brian Bartaby, Proplend founder and CEO, said Jason’s significant experience would be “invaluable” as the platform pursues further growth.
“We are totally commercial property focused and have concentrated on building a sustainable business,” he added.
“Jason is a very welcome addition to our small and entrepreneurial team.”
Jason added: “I am delighted to have joined the Proplend team, working closely with Brian.
“The firm has done a splendid job getting to break even, and I hope to support the business to further scale its loan book and capital base.”
So far, Proplend has funded £168m of loans since its inception.
