Shawbrook bolsters commercial mortgages team
By Alex LynnShawbrook Bank has announced the appointment of four new staff members, as part of a drive to expand its commercial mortgages team
Amanda Howe and Ella-Louise Smith have joined the firm as lending officers, while Quality Control Officer Mark Valmont and Lending Manager Mark Palmer were also recruited.
Karen Bennett, Sales & Marketing Director for Shawbrook Commercial said: “On behalf of the entire commercial team, we’re very pleased to welcome aboard our new colleagues.
“With fresh faces joining the quality control and lending teams, we are investing into the future of the commercial division while simultaneously expanding the resource available to our brokers’ clients with immediate effect.
“Each employee has been chosen for their experience and suitability for their respective roles, and we are confident that these new starters will deliver the level of personal, progressive service to our broker partners which Shawbrook is renowned for.”
Mark Palmer previously served as a mortgage adviser, before spending five years as a mortgage supervisor for Yorkshire Building Society in London.
In his new role on the portfolio team, he will be responsible for overseeing cases with repeat Shawbrook clients.
Mark joined the firm after it was recommended by a former colleague who now works for Shawbrook.
He added: “Having learned about the bank’s vision and its history of delivering a service-driven, case-by-case approach to commercial lending, I knew that this was the place where I wanted to work.
“As someone who has been in the mortgage industry for a number of years, I love the bespoke approach to lending where applications are dealt with on a common sense basis.
“It’s a much more enjoyable way to work and takes into account the individual circumstances of brokers’ clients, rather than the production line ‘computer says no’ approach.”
Shawbrook offers commercial property finance, asset finance and savings products for SME business customers.
