Shawbrook welcomes three graduates to development programme

Shawbrook Bank has hired three recent university graduates for its new recruitment programme

Section: Interviews

The challenger bank launched its graduate scheme in the summer of 2016 in the hope of attracting the “Shawbrook employees of tomorrow”.

The graduates will go through a two-year rotational leadership development programme within one of five business units: business finance, consumer finance, property finance (commercial and residential mortgages), group risk or group finance.

The three employees are Luke Randell, Oliver Porter and Wojciech Babiarczuk.

Luke graduated from the University of Birmingham with an MA in history, which he attained after gaining a BA in the same subject from York St John University.

Oliver has an MA in sports business management and a BA in sports development, both from Sheffield Hallam University.

Wojciech graduated from Brunel University London with a degree in law.

Emma Cox, sales director for Shawbrook Commercial Mortgages, said: “We invested heavily into our recruitment drive for this first intake, with a bank-wide programme designed to attract the most talented university graduates of 2016.

“Thus far we have been pleased by the promising start that Luke, Oliver and Wojciech have made to life at Shawbrook, after undergoing a rigorous interview process which highlighted their tenacity and natural talent.

“It’s now up to them – with the training infrastructure and personalised support we provide on an ongoing basis – to continue their professional development, while contributing to what we are confident will be a prosperous period of growth for Shawbrook Commercial and our broker partners.”
