Secure Trust Bank (STB) Business Finance’s new bridging proposition wrote around £60m of deals in the first half of 2026.

Launched earlier this year, the bridging proposition is now led by Mike Feasey (pictured above), who has been appointed head of bridging.

Mike commented: “We’re really pleased with the progress we’ve made since launching our bridging proposition earlier this year.

“Reaching around £60m of originations in the first half of the year is a strong start and reflects the team’s ability to respond effectively to opportunities in the market.

“We’ve built a strong foundation in a relatively short period of time, and our focus for the rest of the year will be on continuing to develop our pipeline and build out the bridging team, ensuring we can continue to support brokers and borrowers with their funding requirements.”

The proposition has supported a range of transactions, including a £4.5m land bridge for a joint venture between Alara Investments and Elder to support the advancement of Greyfriars House, a co-living development in Reading.

The 18-month facility, representing 50% LTV, was completed in seven weeks from sanction to drawdown, providing flexibility as the joint venture progresses through planning and demolition.

STB also provided Vita Group with a £13m facility secured against The Goods Station, a major development site in Birmingham.

The complex transaction involved a phased disposal strategy and challenging market conditions, with agreed conditions enabling drawdown while providing appropriate risk mitigation.

The deal completed six weeks post-sanction.
