ThinCats appoints former bank director

ThinCats has appointed Richard Lamb (pictured above) to lead its new business origination throughout the North West.

Richard joins the alternative funding specialist after nearly a decade as a relationship director at NatWest.

At ThinCats, Richard joins the lender’s growing team of experienced bankers who have moved into specialising in alternative finance.

Richard will focus on senior secured loans for SMEs from £100,000-10m to fund growth, acquisitions, refinancing and restructuring of debt.

“I have spent my career working with SME businesses,” said Richard.

“With the changing landscape seen in the UK funding markets over the last 10 years there is an increasing need for borrowers to have access to alternative sources of finance to those traditionally provided by the banks.

“I am delighted to be joining ThinCats and providing businesses in the North West with a true alternative finance provider, dedicated to funding growing and ambitious SMEs.”

Damon Walford, chief development officer at ThinCats, added that he was extremely pleased to have Richard on board.

“He joins us after three decades of being embedded in the North West SME economy, giving meaningful advice and helping business owners make informed decisions to improve company performance and support growth.

“He is able to draw on vast experience in supporting SMEs with management buyouts and buy-ins, alongside growth funding and turnaround situations to help businesses return to financial health."
