Cambridge & Counties expands Yorkshire real estate team

Cambridge & Counties Bank has appointed Simon Steer as a senior relationship manager for its real estate finance team.

In his new role, he will be based in the bank’s Sheffield office and will report to regional director Carl Ashley.

Simon has almost 24 years of experience in banking, having previously held roles at various companies, including NatWest, Royal Bank of Scotland and, most recently, Redwood Bank, where he covered the south Yorkshire region.

Throughout his career, Simon gained extensive experience of working with commercial brokers, professional services firms, such as solicitors, valuers and accountants, and other intermediaries across the real estate market.

Along with real estate finance, he has expertise in other sectors, such as manufacturing, healthcare, leisure, agricultural, retail and wholesale.

Commenting on his appointment, Simon said: “I’m delighted to have joined Cambridge & Counties Bank, as it significantly builds its footprint and capabilities across the UK.

“The bank has a strong vision, built around its customers and serving their needs, and I’m highly confident it will cater for strong demand in Yorkshire among property professionals and intermediaries for its tailored lending solutions.”

Carl added: “Simon is a great addition to the Cambridge & Counties team, with extensive experience and a deep understanding of the financing needs of local businesses and key stakeholders, such as brokers.

“Yorkshire is a key growth market for the bank, and we will continue to invest in the local team to support the long-term growth plans of the bank.”
