Blue Shield Capital appoints two senior executives

Real estate lending firm, Blue Shield Capital, has appointed Stephen Benson and Daniel Whebell as senior executives, as it looks to increase its loan book over the course of the year to more than £100m.

Stephen, a veteran of the finance industry over the last 20 years, has joined as a shareholder and partner to help the team continue to grow.

Daniel is an experienced banking lawyer who joins Blue Shield as an in-house legal counsel.

Both Stephen and Dan will be supporting co-founders Gil Ulrich and Jonathan Hitter, as they aim to help the team work towards the company’s loan book goals.

Most recent facilities closed by Blue Shield in 2023 include the £7m financing of a vacant commercial property in North London, the £5m financing of a mixed-use building in Manchester and a £4m loan to refinance a 24-unit residential asset located in Tottenham, North London.

Gil Ulrich, the CEO at Blue Shield (pictured above) commented: “We are delighted to have strengthened our team in bringing in Stephen and Dan as we continue to manage the increasing demand in the market for our lending products.”
