The growth brings the UK out of technical recession

UK pulled out of recession by 0.6% GDP increase




UK GDP is estimated to have grown by 0.6% in Q1 2024, according to the ONS.

The increase follows a decline of 0.3% in Q3 2023 and a fall of 0.1% in Q3 2023 — in comparison with Q1 of last year, GDP is estimated to have grown by 0.2%.

The latest rise in GDP implies that the UK is now out of technical recession.

Services grew by 0.7% when it came to output, with production increasing by 0.8% — despite this construction declined by 0.9%.
