Mint Bridging has made a new appointment to its underwriting team in order to accommodate the lender’s “rapid growth”.

Richard Showman, a qualified surveyor, joins Mint having previously spent time as head of underwriting at Catalyst Securities where he supervised over £100m worth of loans.

Richard also worked in the commercial agency industry before joining United Co-Op to oversee its investment property portfolio.

Paul Wertheim, Operations Director at Mint, said: “Having Richard’s surveying expertise within our underwriting team is critical at this time of Mint’s expansion. He is a great asset to our company.”

Richard said: “I was looking to come back into the bridging finance space for a while, and was delighted when I got the calls from Andrew [Lazare] and Paul to join Mint.

“I have been really impressed with their current systems and processes and the simple decision-making process on approving loans, makes life a lot easier with brokers and borrowers.

“I’m looking forward to helping the company achieve its ambitious growth plans, especially over the next 12 months.”
