Regentsmead breaks company record

Regentsmead has announced record levels of business completed for August.

The development finance lender revealed new business in August was up 50% compared to last year, beating all previous years since Regentsmead launched its development finance division in the early 90s.

Despite the summer traditionally being quiet, Ashley Ilsen, head of lending at Regentsmead, said that a wide range of projects had come their way.

“Firstly, the initial knee jerk reaction from the Brexit vote seems to have calmed down and a sense of normality has resumed.

“What’s great to see is the huge range of projects coming our way, from starter homes to tricky conversion projects and luxury new builds.”

Explaining the reason behind the jump in business, Ashley added: “August is usually a quieter month for us but we’ve been bowled over by such a high conversion, however I suspect other lenders failing to perform has a lot to do with it, while we have also had an exceptionally high number of existing clients come back to us, some of whom are on their sixth or seventh project with Regentsmead.”

Regentsmead’s record August comes following the appointment of Sam Howard as the lender’s new chief operating officer.

“With something big launching later in September we are very optimistic about further growth over the coming years, despite degrees of uncertainty in the market.

“It really is a key time to be self-funded as if there are further liquidity issues going forward we should continue to fare well as we have done in the past.

“Now to try and make September a record month too.”
