Yasin Patel and Shoaib Bux leave Arbuthnot Specialist Finance

Yasin Patel and Shoaib Bux have announced they are leaving Arbuthnot Specialist Finance Limited (ASFL) to pursue new opportunities.

The pair joined the business in August 2018 as managing directors, having previously been divisional directors at Amicus Property Finance.

In 2007, the pair co-founded bridging lender, Mayfair Bridging, which was then acquired by Amicus Finance PLC in 2014, and merged with the Amicus brand in October 2015.

In November 2020, Arbuthnot Specialist Finance revealed that October was its biggest month to date, with loan enquiries totalling £108m from 64 credit applications.

“We want to thank Arbuthnot Latham for the opportunity to launch ASFL and for the continued support in driving the business forward,” said Yasin and Shoaib.

"It has been great working with a larger financial institution, adding to our already considerable experience in specialist finance.

"It is a great company to be associated with, and we wish the business and the broader Arbuthnot Latham family every success in the future.”

An Arbuthnot Latham spokesperson added: “After three years with Arbuthnot Latham and having assisted the bank in establishing its property bridging business, Yasin and Shoaib have taken the decision to branch out and run their own business again.

“Arbuthnot is grateful to these two individuals for the help and guidance they provided in setting up this venture, and wish them every success in their new venture.

“Arbuthnot will continue to invest in the Arbuthnot Specialist Finance business and will, in the future, be led by two ASFL board directors, Stephen Fletcher and Andrew Broughton, who both already know the business well, having been involved since start up.”

Yasin confirmed to B&C that the duo will be launching a new tech-driven venture soon.
